Old-Fashioned Soft Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 1/2 c. butter or oleo
• 1 1/2 c. sugar
• 2 eggs
• 3 c. flour, sifted
• 1/2 tsp. baking powder
• 1/2 tsp. soda
• 1 tsp. salt
• 1 c. sour cream
• 1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Sift dry ingredients together. Cream sugar and shortening. Mix together, alternating sour cream and dry ingredients. Drop by spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 340 to 350 degrees for 13 minutes.
Variations: Add 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled, OR 1 cup raisins or sprinkle with colored sugar.
