Swiss Steak Crock-Pot

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs. round steak, cut 3/4in thick
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 carrot, chopped
- 1 stalk celery, chopped
- 15 ounces tomato sauce

Step 1
Cut round steak into serving pieces. Season flour with salt and pepper. Dredge meat in seasoned flour. Place onions in bottm of crock-pot; add meat. Top with carrots and celery and cover with tomato sauce. Cover and cook on Low 8 to 10 hours. (High: 3 to 5 hours).
Creamy Swiss Steak: Place onions and meat in crock-pot as directed. spread 1 10-ounce can cream of mushroom soup over meat. Cook as directed.
Notes:
I have discovered this recipe is a tad bland, but it is sure quick and easy. I jazz it up with more seasonings such as garlic powder, onion powder. Sometimes I use jarred spaghetti sauce instead of plain tomato sauce. i also like to use stewed tomatoes instead of sauce but the kids don't like the tomato pieces. Anyway you can do your own thing with this. Add more veggies. Add some mushrooms. Whatever you like.
