Barb's Angel Food Cake

Ingredients

• 1 1/8 c. sifted cake flour
• 3/4 c. sugar
• 1 c. sugar
• 1 1/2 c. egg whites
• 1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 1/2 tsp. almond

Preparation

Step 1

Mix egg whites and salt in large bowl. Beat on #8 until foamy. Add cream of tartar and add until stiff points. Gradually add 1 cup sugar; beat until blended. Add flavoring. Sift flour and 3/4 c. sugar 5 times. Fold in flour mixture into egg whites by hand. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
