  • 1 1/2 cups bread cubes
  • 3 cups milk, scalded
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup seedless raisins

Preparation

Step 1

Soak bread in milk for 1/2 hour. Beat eggs. Gradually add sugar. Beat in salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir in raisins. Combine egg mixture with bread. Pour into a greased oven-proof dish and set in a pan of hot water. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes. until knife inserted comes out clean.
