- Pie crust dough, enough for 2
- 8 apples
- Sugar
- Oleo

Step 1
Make pie crust as for pie, 2 crusts for 8 dumplings. Divide into 8 balls and roll out each piece. Fill with peeled apple slices (1 apple for dumpling, a bit of butter or oleo, about 1 teaspoon sugar (for tart apples) and a pinch of nutmeg. Roll crust around apple and seal tightly. Drop into boiling water (about 2 inches in 6-quart Dutch oven) and boil for 20 minutes or until apples test done. Serve with milk, sugar and cinnamon.
