Homemade Cake Mix for 1 Cake

Ingredients

• 2 1/2 cups cake flour
• 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
• 1/4 scant teaspoon salt
• 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 cup butter

Step 1

I thoroughly combined all dry ingredients together. Then I cut the butter into small pieces throughout the flour. I used a pastry cutter and cut the butter into the flour mixture until the butter was thoroughly incorporated. I kept doing it until the butter was very small. Like sand.

I made the chocolate cake recipe and followed the instructions to a "T". My cake came out perfect. I will never go back to buying another cake mix.
