Ingredients
- 2 cans (19 oz) chic peas, washed and drained
- 1 medium white onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp. minced garlic
- 1 tsp. mined ginger
- 2 firm tomatoes, diced
- fresh cilantro
- 1 tsp. cumin seed
- 1 tsp coriander pwder
- 1 tsp. garam masala
- 1 tsp. chana masala
- salt to taste

Preparation
Step 1
heat 4 tbsp cooking oil in a semi-deep pot with lid. add cumin seed when the oil is hot, seeds should begin to pop.
Add garlic and ginger, followed by onions. let the onions get soft and browned. Add tomatoes and cover the pot for 2 minutes, stirring once. Add the spices plus salt to taste. Add the chic peas and 1/2 cup of water. simmer for 12 minutes. let cool 10-15 minutes then sprinkle with fresh cilantro.
