Ingredients

  • 3 lbs peeled and deveined shrimp
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 T extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1 t. minced garlic
  • 2 t. dried parsley flakes
  • 2 T all purpose flour
  • seafood stock
  • paprika, for color
  • 1/4 t. old bay seasoning
  • salt and cayenne pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Place butter and olive oil in pot then add onions and garlic. Saute for 30minutes until transparent then add parsley flakes and flour, stirring well and let cook for about 10-15 minutes then add the shrimp, seafood stock (until you reach the desired consistency for your gravy). Add paprika a little at a time until you've checked a rich golden color. Add Old Bay, salt and cayenne pepper to taste.
