BLACK & WHITE CHEESECAKE BROWNIES

By

I got this recipe from Peter’s secretary Michelle Auster. She made these brownies for all the office parties. Peter used to rave about them, but never was able to bring one home. Michelle brought them over to our house when we had a party, and now I know why Peter used to horde them.

Preparation

Step 1

Brownie Base: Oven to 350 degrees. Melt over hot water, 1 ¼ cups Nestle Little Bits chocolate. (I add about a tsp. of water to chocolate and melt in microwave). Stir until smooth. Set aside. In large bowl, combine sugar & butter; beat until creamy. Add eggs, vanilla and salt; mix well. Add melted chocolate and flour; mix well. Spread into foil-lined 9” square baking pan.

Cheesecake Topping: In large bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar and butter; beat until creamy. Add eggs, milk, flour and almond extract; beat well. Stir in remaining ¾ cup Little Bits chocolate. Pour over brownie base. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Cool completely on wire rack; cut into 2 ¼” squares.
