Toasted Oatmeal

Toasted oatmeal is great for lots of protein! It is simple to make and delicious! You can add nuts or fruits to make you oatmeal more exciting!

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup milk
- Pinch of kosher salt
- Pinch of cinnamon
- 3/4 cup water
- Maple syrup, to serve
- 1/2 cup toasted pecans

Preparation
Step 1
1In a cast iron skillet melt butter over medium heat. Add oats and toast for 7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
In a sauce pan add milk, salt, cinnamon and water to a boil over medium heat. Add toasted oats, cover, turn off heat, allow to sit for 10 minutes
Top with maple syrup and toasted pecans.
