Preparation

Step 1

RIBS:

Peel tendon off back of ribs. For ease of handling, cut each slab in half. Generously sprinkle both sides with salt, pepper and garlic salt. Broil ribs until nicely browned on both sides (this removes a lot of grease). You can also grill them until they are nicely browned.

Arrange browned ribs in a large roasting pan. Add ¼ onion, chopped and water to cover bottom of pan about ½” deep. Cover and cook for one hour at 350 degrees.

Dissolve brown sugar in a little warm water in a large bowl. Add balance of ingredients and mix well.

FINALE

After the ribs have cooked for an hour, remove from oven and place ribs on a plate. Pour liquid from pan and reserve. Dip ribs into sauce coating completely. Put coated ribs back into roasting pan. Pour remaining sauce over and bake for 45 minutes. If sauce gets too thick, add a little reserved liquid.

Serve with baked potato, cole slaw and corn on the cob. Perfect!
