Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts, skinless, boneless
  • 2 1/2 c water
  • 1 1/2 tsp chicken bouillon granules
  • 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1/8 tsp ground white pepper
  • 1 med carrot, peeled, sliced length wise and diced
  • 1 stalk celery, thinly sliced include leaves
  • 1/2 c onion
  • 1 c green peas
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 c white wine
  • parsley, fresh, chopped, garnish
  • cornstarch mixed w/ water to thicken
  • Dumplings
  • 1 1/2 c all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 3/4 c buttermilk

Preparation

Step 1

Place chicken in pot with wate boullion, and seasonings. Cook until done (25-30 minutes) Remove chicken from pot, cool and cut into bite size pieces.
Add carrots, celery and onion to pot cover and simmer until tender. Add peas. Mix cornstarch water and wine and whisk until smooth. Add and simmer until thickened. Mix dumplings and drop heaping teaspoonfuls into simmering stew. Cover and cook 10-12 minutes or until dumplings are fluffy and cooked through.
