Ingredients

    cup vegetable oil

  • 1 1/2

    cup sugar

  • 3

    eggs

  • 2

    cups self rising flour

  • 1

    tsp. cinnamon

  • 1

    tsp. nutmeg

  • 1

    tsp. all spice

  • 1

    tsp. soda

  • 1

    cup buttermilk

  • 1

    tsp. vanilla

  • 1

    cup nuts

  • 1

    cup prunes

Directions

Blend sugar and oil. Add eggs and mix well. In another bowl blend dry ingredients.Gradually add dry ingredients to sugar mixture. Combine soda and buttermilk. Add to mixture and mix well. Add vanilla, nuts and prunes. Bake in 9 x 12 greased pan at 300 degrees for 1 hour. Poke holes in the warm cake and then pour icing over the cake. Buttermilk Icing 1 cup sugar 1/2 tsp soda 1/4 cup butter 1/2 tsp vanilla 1/2 cup buttermilk 1 tablespoon white syrup Combine ingredients in saucepan and stir constantly, until soft ball forms in water.
