Ingredients

    lb. thawed frozen bread dough

  • Roll to a 12" square on lightly floured surface.

  • For Chocolate Cinnamon Bread

  • Combine:

  • 4

    tbsp. softened butter

  • 1

    tsp. vanilla

  • Pinch of salt

  • Spread on dough

  • Sprinkle with:

  • 4

    oz. chopped semisweet chocolate

  • 1/3

    cup sugar

  • 1/4

    tsp. cinnamon

  • Assemble loaf as directed

  • For Blueberry-Cream Cheese Bread

  • Combine:

  • 2

    oz. softened cream cheese

  • 1/2

    tsp. grated lemon zest

  • Pinch of nutmeg

  • Spread over dough

  • Sprinkle with:

  • 2

    tbsp. granulated sugar

  • 2

    tbsp. sliced almonds

  • 1

    cup blueberries

  • Press lightly

  • Assemble loaf as directed

  • Sprinkle with:

  • 1

    tbsp. granulated sugar

  • 1

    tbsp. sliced almonds

  • Dust with confectioners sugar before serving

Directions

After adding toppings, cut into 16 small squares. Make 4 stacks of 4 squares each. Place each stack on its side in a 9x5" loaf pan. Gently separate the dough layers until they fill the pan. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and set in warm place until dough rises by half its size, one to two hours. Preheat oven to 350. Bake loaf until it is browned and cooked through, 40 - 45 min. Tent with foil if it is browning too quickly. Let cool 15 min. in pan, then loosen with knife, remove from pan and let cool 30 min.
