  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 T. cornstarch
  • Dash salt
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 3 egg whites
  • 2 T. sugar

Step 1

Mix 1/4 cup sugar, cornstarch, salt and water in small saucepan. Boil for 1 minute until clear and thickened. Cool. Beat 3 whites until soft, beat 2 tablespoons sugar and beat until stiff. Add cooled mixture and beat until stiff and glossy. Pile onto pie filling, sealing edges; bake at 425 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes.
