  • 1 (9-inch) baked pie shell
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 T. butter/oleo
  • 2 egg yolks, beaten
  • 4 to 5 heaping T. flour
  • 2 c. milk

Preparation

Step 1

Put sugar and butter in skillet ready to scorch. In doubler boiler, put beaten eggs yolks, then add a little of the milk. Then add flour and rest of milk and cook until thickened. Keep hot. Now scorch sugar and butter. Pour into double boiler. Cool slightly and pour into shell. Beat meringue and bake at 300 to 325 until meringue is browned on top.
