Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean hamburger
  • 1/4 c. minced onion
  • 1/4 tsp. instant minced garlic
  • 1 (16-oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 c. cream-style cottage cheese
  • 1/4 c. chopped parsley
  • 2 c. sliced cooked carrots
  • 1 (8-oz) pkg. med noodles, cooked and drained
  • 1 c. cheddar cheese
  • Chopped green pepper (if desired)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Brown beef; add onion and garlic. Saute until will browned; drain. Stir in tomato sauce, salt and pepper. Simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Combine sour cream, cottage cheese, parsley and carrots; add to cooked noodles. Mix well. Alternate layers of meat mixture in greased 3-quart casserole, beginning and ending with noodles. Top with cheese. Bake for 30 minutes.
