Easy Chai Tea

Worth the effort if you love the sweet and milky flavors of chai tea lattes. This can be made and refrigerated up to 2 days; reheat in the microwave.

Ingredients
- 16 cardamom seeds
- 16 whole cloves
- 8 black peppercorns
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 2 1-inch pieces fresh ginger, sliced
- 4 cups skimmed / nonfat milk
- 8 bags black tea
- Sugar or sweetener, to taste (approximately 2 spoons equivalent per cup)

Preparation
Step 1
Place cardamom,cloves, and peppercorns in a ziplock bag and crush with a rolling pin or heavy skillet.
Place the crushed spices in a slow cooker on high heat along with the cinnamon sticks, ginger, milk and 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil and turn to low. Cook for 5-6 hours or until flavors are blended and you are ready to serve. Add the tea bags, cover and let steep for approximately 10 additional minutes.
Strain into cups. To each cup add 2 tsps of sugar or sweetener to taste.
