Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 can Campbell's golden mushroom soup
  • 1/4 c. finely chopped onion
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 c. sm. bread crumbs
  • 1 or 2 T. drippings
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • Dash pepper
  • 2 c. mashed potates
  • 1/4 c. water

Step 1

Mix thoroughly the ground beef, 1/2 can soup, bread, onion, egg, salt and pepper. Shape firmly into loaf. Place in a 10-inch shallow baking dish. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Frost loaf with potatoes and bake for 15 more minutes. Blend remaining soup with water and drippings. Heat and serve with loaf.

Instant potatoes may be used.
