Ingredients

  • Meatballs:
  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
  • 3/4 c. quick-cooking oats
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 T. chopped onion
  • 1 egg
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Sauce:
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 T. vinegar
  • 2 T. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 c. catsup
  • 1 c. water
  • 6 T. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. barbecue sauce

Step 1

Mix ground beef, oats, milk, 2 tablespoons chopped onion, egg, salt and pepper together and form into meatbolls. Roll in flour and brown in skillet. Put in baking dish. Mix sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, catsup, water, 6 tablespoons chopped onion and barbecue sauce together. Add sauce to meatballs. Bake at 325 for about 30 minutes.

This recipe makes a lot of meatballs, a little larger than a marble. The sauce is very good to bake over country-style ribs.
