Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 c. flour, sifted
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 pt. commercial sour cream
  • 6 T. margarine, softened
  • 1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. nuts, chopped

Step 1

Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, singularly, beating well after each. Add flour, baking powder and soda to creamed mixture, alternately with sour cream, blending well after each addition. Spread 1/2 of batter in 10-inch tube or bundt pan that has been well greased. Cream butter, brown sugar and cinnamon together. Add nuts; mix well. Dot batter in pan evenly with 1/2 of nut mixture. Cover with remaining batter. Dot with remaining mixture. Bake at 350 for about 50 minutes cool cake for 10 minutes. Remove from pan.
