Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 1 c. cottage cheese
  • 2 T. sugar
  • 1 T. instant onion
  • 1 T. butter
  • 1 tsp. dill weed
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 1 unbeaten egg

Step 1

Dissolve yeast in warm watter. Heat cottage cheese; add other ingredients, including yeast. Mix well. Stir in 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 cups flour to form stiff dough. Cover; let rise in warm place 50 to 60 minutes, until double. Stir down dough. Turn into a well dreased 2-quart casserole. Let rise for 30 to 40 minutes in warm place. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes. Brush with soft butter right away and sprinkle with walt.

A german bread, good served warm with lots of butter.
