- 2 T. vegetable oil

Step 1
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Scrub potatoes and cut lengthwise into strups 1/2-inch thick. Soak in cold water for 10 minutes. Drain and dry well between towels. Place potatoes in a bowl and pour oil over them. Stir until coated with oil. Bake in single layers on ovenproof pan for 35 to 45 minutes, turning several times. Drain on paper towels and season to taste.
