Ingredients
- 2 1/2 Cups sifted cake flour
- 1 1/2 Cups sugar
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 Cup soft butter
- 1 Cup milk
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly grease and flour 2 9" layer cake pans.
Inot the large bowl of electric mixer, sift flour with sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Add butter, 3/4 cup milk, and vanilla; at low speed, beat only until ingredients are conbined. Then, at medium speed, beat 2 minutes.
Add eggs and remaining milk; beat 2 minutes longer.
Pour batter into pans; bake 30 - 35 minutes, or until surface springs back when gently pressed with fingertips.
Let cool in pans 10 minutes on wire rack. Turn out; let cool completely on wire rack.
