Stir with fork every 10 minutes until mixture is slushy and partially solidified, about 35 minutes. Spoon into cups and garnish with whole cherries.

1 Maraschino cherry for garnish

Prepare gelatin according to package directions, pour into an 8-inch glass dish and chill for four hours. When the gelatin is set, cut into 1/2-inch cubes. 5 strawberries, sliced in thirds

1 bottle dry red or white wine, such as Spanish Rioja or Bordeaux

1. Soak the fruits in the brandy, Grand Marnier, or Cointreau and a pinch of sugar. In a pitcher with some ice, combine the macerated fruit and liqueur with the remaining ingredients. Mix well, and serve.

1 (14-ounce) can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk (NOT evaporated milk)
1 (12-ounce) can frozen cranberry juice cocktail concentrate, thawed
1 cup cranberry-flavored liqueur, optional
Red food coloring, optional
2 (1-liter) bottles club soda or ginger ale, chilled

Prepare ice ring in advance. In punch bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, cranberry concentrate, liqueur and food coloring if desired. Just
before serving add club soda and Cranberry Ice Ring. Refrigerate leftovers.

Cranberry Ice Ring: Combine 2 cups cranberry juice cocktail with 1 1/2 cups water. In 1 1/2-quart ring mold, pour 1/2 cup cranberry liquid.
Arrange 3/4 to 1 cup cranberries and lime slices or mint leaves in mold;freeze. Add remaining 3 cups cranberry liquid to mold; freeze.

1/2 cup sugar
3 tablespoons water
Crushed ice
2 cups freshly brewed espresso, chilled
6 tablespoons amaretto liqueur
1 cup whole milk or whipping cream, chilled

Stir the sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Cool the sugar syrup completely.
Fill 6 (8 to 12-ounce) glasses halfway with crushed ice. Pour the espresso over the ice, dividing equally. Pour 1 tablespoon of the sugar syrup and 1 tablespoon of amaretto into each glass. Stir to blend. Pour the milk into each and serve.

Serves 4

2 1/2 cups pineapple juice
2 1/2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice, plus orange sections for garnish (optional)
3/4 cup plain yogurt
1 banana, peeled and halved
3 tablespoons honey
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, plus more for garnish

1. Fill one ice-cube tray with pineapple juice and another tray with orange juice. Place in the freezer until frozen, several hours or overnight. Place yogurt, banana, honey, and cinnamon in the jar of a blender, and process until smooth. Transfer to a bowl, and set aside. Rinse blender, and fill with pineapple ice cubes and remaining pineapple juice. Process until smooth.

2. Divide among four glasses, top with reserved yogurt mixture, and place in the freezer. Meanwhile, process the orange-juice cubes with the remaining orange juice. Remove filled glasses from freezer, and top with orange-juice slush. Garnish each glass with additional cinnamon and an orange section, if desired. Serve immediately.

Diet Dr Pepper Cherry Blaster:

Are you a Diet Dr Pepper lover? Then wait until you see what happens when you add a little cherry to it.


8 ounces ice old Diet Dr Pepper
1 each 4-ounce package sugar-free cherry flavored gelatin
2 tablespoons light whipped topping
1 Maraschino cherry for garnish

Prepare gelatin according to package directions, pour into an 8-inch glass dish and chill for four hours. When the gelatin is set, cut into 1/2-inch cubes. Place 16 cubes into a 12-ounce glass and add the Diet Dr Pepper, top with the light whipped topping and garnish with a Maraschino cherry. Enjoy!

3 8 oz. nonfat plain yogurts
1 tsp. Vanilla
9 tab. Confectioners sugar

Blend two containers of yogurt, vanilla and 6 tab. Sugar. Blend remaining container, 3 tab. Sugar, and grape juice.

Cut bananas in half crosswise; quarter each banana in half again. Stand up 4 pieces of banana in each of 4 dessert dishes.

Spoon half of vanilla mix into dishes. Spoon on half of purple mix. Sprinkle with granola. Repeat yogurt layering. Top with remaining yogurt and cherries.

Serves 6 to 8

Sangria originated in Spain, and it takes its name from the word sangre, which means “blood.” It should be served as cold as possible. Avoid highly acidic fruits such as pineapple, because they detract from the flavor rather than enhancing it.






1 ripe peach, pitted and sliced
1 red apricot, pitted and sliced
5 strawberries, sliced in thirds
1 seedless orange, sliced in rounds
1/4 cup brandy, Grand Marnier, or Cointreau
Pinch of granulated sugar
1 bottle dry red or white wine, such as Spanish Rioja or Bordeaux
2 tablespoons superfine sugar
2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice

1. Soak the fruits in the brandy, Grand Marnier, or Cointreau and a pinch of sugar. In a pitcher with some ice, combine the macerated fruit and liqueur with the remaining ingredients. Mix well, and serve.

Cranberry Ice Ring or ice
1 (14-ounce) can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk (NOT evaporated milk)
1 (12-ounce) can frozen cranberry juice cocktail concentrate, thawed
1 cup cranberry-flavored liqueur, optional
Red food coloring, optional
2 (1-liter) bottles club soda or ginger ale, chilled

Prepare ice ring in advance. In punch bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, cranberry concentrate, liqueur and food coloring if desired. Just
before serving add club soda and Cranberry Ice Ring. Refrigerate leftovers.

Cranberry Ice Ring: Combine 2 cups cranberry juice cocktail with 1 1/2 cups water. In 1 1/2-quart ring mold, pour 1/2 cup cranberry liquid.
Arrange 3/4 to 1 cup cranberries and lime slices or mint leaves in mold;freeze. Add remaining 3 cups cranberry liquid to mold; freeze.

1/2 cup sugar
3 tablespoons water
Crushed ice
2 cups freshly brewed espresso, chilled
6 tablespoons amaretto liqueur
1 cup whole milk or whipping cream, chilled

Stir the sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Cool the sugar syrup completely.
Fill 6 (8 to 12-ounce) glasses halfway with crushed ice. Pour the espresso over the ice, dividing equally. Pour 1 tablespoon of the sugar syrup and 1 tablespoon of amaretto into each glass. Stir to blend. Pour the milk into each and serve.

WINTER SMOOTHIE

Serves 4

2 1/2 cups pineapple juice
2 1/2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice, plus orange sections for garnish (optional)
3/4 cup plain yogurt
1 banana, peeled and halved
3 tablespoons honey
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, plus more for garnish

1. Fill one ice-cube tray with pineapple juice and another tray with orange juice. Place in the freezer until frozen, several hours or overnight. Place yogurt, banana, honey, and cinnamon in the jar of a blender, and process until smooth. Transfer to a bowl, and set aside. Rinse blender, and fill with pineapple ice cubes and remaining pineapple juice. Process until smooth.

2. Divide among four glasses, top with reserved yogurt mixture, and place in the freezer. Meanwhile, process the orange-juice cubes with the remaining orange juice. Remove filled glasses from freezer, and top with orange-juice slush. Garnish each glass with additional cinnamon and an orange section, if desired. Serve immediately.
