Chocolate Cake Mix Mug Cake

• 6 tbsp. chocolate cake mix
• 1 tbsp. water
• 2 tbsp. unsweetened applesauce *see note*
• 2 tbsp. chocolate chips (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

In microwave safe bowl, add 6 tbsp cake mix, water and applesauce. Mix well until batter is smooth. If using chocolate chips, stir in 1 tbsp. into batter and sprinkle remaining tbsp. over the top of the batter.

Cook in microwave at full power (high) for 1 minute. Allow to cool for a few minutes before eating.

NOTE: If you don't have applesauce, you can substitute: 2 tbsp. water and 1/2 tbsp. oil in place of applesauce... the recipe wil be more of a loose crumb texture. Definitely works better with applesauce.
