Blender Whole Wheat Pancakes/Waffles

A great way to use whole wheat without having to grind it first. These really taste great! And everything is done in your blender.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat kernels
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 egg whites or 1 whole egg
  • 1/4 cup applesauce or 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 tsp. baking powder

Preparation

Step 1

Put the whole wheat kernels in the blender. Pour 1 cup of the milk in with the whole wheat and blend at high speed for 3 minutes. Add the rest of the milk (1/2 cup) and blend for 2 more minutes. Then add the egg whites, applesauce, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Continue to blend all of this until smooth. Cook on hot griddle. If making waffles, us the whole egg and oil instead of the egg whites and applesauce.
