Ingredients
- Crust:
- 2 cups flour 500 mL
- 1/2 cup white sugar 125 mL
- 2/3 cup butter 150 mL
- Filling:
- 6-1 oz.squares semisweet chocolate 170g
- 1 1/2 cups light corn syrup 375 mL
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar 375 mL
- 4 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 7 mL
- 2 cups chopped pecans 500 mL
- Topping (optional):
- 2 Tbsp. butter 30 mL
- 2-1 oz.squares semisweet chocolate 55g

Step 1
Crust: Combine ingredients and mix to coarse, crumble stage. Pat firmly into greased 10" x 15" (24 x 37 cm) edged cookie sheet. Bake at 350 deg.F (180 deg.C) for 15 minutes.
Filling: Heat chocolate and corn syrup over low heat until chocolate is melted. Remove from heat, add sugar, eggs and vanilla, mixing well. Stir in pecans. Spread over hot crust. Bake at 350 deg.F (180 deg.C) for 25 to 30 minutes, or until filling is firm around edges and slightly soft in center. Cool on a rack.
Topping: Melt butter and chocolate in pan at low heat and drizzle over top. Cut into small rectangles while still warm but leave in pan until cooled.
