  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp onion salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp shortening
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup beer

Preparation

Step 1

Thoroughly mix together first five ingredients; shape into small round balls (there should be about 35). Brown meat balls on all sides in hot fat in dutch oven or skillet, turning each carefully to avoid breaking. After cooking, drain on a paper towel. Turn heat on low, and pour ketchup and beer (which have been mixed together) over meat balls. Cover pan and simmer for about 30 minutes.
