Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup carrots, cut up
  • 1 cup celery, diced
  • 1 cup potatoes, cubed and parred
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. Kitchen Bouquet Browning sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/8 tsp. basil
  • 1 (28 ounce) can tomatoes

Step 1

In a large stock pot, brown meat; drain fat. Stir in all remaining ingredients except tomatoes. Heat to boiling; reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Add tomatoes. Cover and simmer 15 minutes longer, or until all vegetables are tender. Remove bay leaf before serving.
