Ingredients

  • 1 Tbs. instant coffee dissolved in 1 Tbs hot water
  • 2 3/4 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar(can go up to 1/2 a cup)
  • 1/2 cup oil (or 2/3 cup margarine)
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 1/2 eggs(1/2 the yolk and 1/2 of the white)
  • 2 Tbs margarine
  • 2 oz chocolate
  • 2 1/2 Tbs water
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp hot water
  • 1/2 tsp coffee
  • 1/4 cup confec sugar

Step 1

Mix instant coffee through the eggs in the order listed until it forms a dough. Pat down in a cookie sheet lined with parch. paper. Bake at 350 for 20-25 min. Do not over bake!
Melt marg.and choc together. Add 1 cup confec. sugar,2 1/2 Tbs water,1/2 the vanilla and 1/4 tsp salt and stir until combined and smooth. Carefully pour over base and spread with a spatula,cover entire surface evenly. Set aside until it hardens.
Mix 1 1/2 Tsp hot water,1/2 tsp coffee and 1/4 cup confec. sugar in a bowl and drizzle over dry glaze. When completely dried cut into bars.
