Ingredients
- This makes enough sauce for three pizzas.
- Cooking Spray
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1/2 cup white wine – red works too
- 4 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 (14.5 ounce) cans crushed tomatoes, undrained
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar

Preparation
Step 1
1. Heat a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Coat pan with cooking spray.
2. Add onion to pan; sauté 30 seconds.
3. Stir in wine; cook 30 seconds.
4. Add tomato paste, oregano, pepper, and tomatoes. Reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes or until thick.
5. Remove from heat; stir in basil and vinegar.
6. Cool.
