Cakes: Pound Cake

Ingredients

• 3 cups sugar
• 2 sticks butter
• 6 eggs, separated
• 3 cups flour sifted twice (measure before sifting)
• 1/4 t salt
• 1/4 t soda
• 1 cup sour cream
• 1 t vanilla extract
• 1/2 t almond extract

Preparation

Step 1

Cream sugar and butter and add egg yolks one at a time while beating
Add sour cream and flour, soda and salt, alternately
Beat well
Fold in beaten egg whites
Bake in 300 degree one for 1 1/2 hours
