Ingredients
- Filling for cookies:
- 1 package of raisins
- 1 package figs
- 1 package of dates
- Cookie dough:
- 1 c brown sugar
- 1 c white sugar
- 1 c shortening
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 1 t salt
- 1 t baking soda
- 1 t vanilla
- 3 eggs

Preparation
Step 1
Filling directions:
Cover with water and let cook down. Drain any juice and put in blender to puree fruit. Then let stand in refrigerator and thicken before putting in cookies.
Cookie directions:
Cream sugar and shortening (until very fine with no chunks of butter) Add other ingredients and roll out. Cut desired size. Fill with filling and seal edges. Cook at 425 for 8-10 minutes.
