  • 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 2 Pounds Stew Meat
  • 2 Whole Medium Onions, Diced
  • 6 Medium Stalks Celery, Diced
  • 6 Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 Can (12 Oz. Size) Beer
  • 4 Cups Water + 4 Beef Bouillon Cubes
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Can (6 oz.) Tomato Paste
  • 1 Large Can (28 oz.) Diced Tomatoes
  • 4 Tablespoons Paprika
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Tablespoons Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 1-1/2 Teaspoon Sugar
  • 8 Whole Carrots, Washed, Peeled and Sliced
  • 6 Whole Russet Potatoes, Quartered

Step 1

Instructions:
Heat oil and butter in a large pot over medium-high heat. Sear meat and set aside on a plate.
Add diced onions and celery to the pot. Stir and cook for two or three minutes until softened, then add garlic for another minute. Pour in beer and water and add the beef bouillon cubes. Add the Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste and diced tomatoes (don’t drain). Add in paprika, salt, pepper, and sugar. Then, add the stew meat back into the pot. Stir to combine. Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
Add carrots and potatoes, then cover and cook for an additional 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
