    large brisket (trim fat off as much as possible)

  • 4

    large garlic pods

  • 1

    package of Lipton onion soup mix

  • 2

    cans of coke or diet coke

  • 1

    onion – sliced

  • Garlic powder

  • Tony’s seasoning

Directions

Preheat gas grill (high) and oven to 300 degrees. Slice garlic. Slit brisket (1 in. deep) with knife and stuff garlic into brisket evenly throughout. Season both sides of brisket with Tony’s and garlic powder. Place brisket on grill. Sear both sides of brisket and remove. Place brisket and sliced onions into large roasting pan. Sprinkle with onion soup mix. Pour coke over brisket and cover brisket with foil. Cook at 300 degrees for at least 5 hours or until tender. *Baste hourly. Gravy will become dark brown. Yum!
