25/02/16 - I liked this very much, including the sauce. Dan tolerated it but I'm sure I'll have no difficulty with the leftovers and the sauce would be good with other things ... pita and yogurt come to mind.

BROCCOLETTE****Roasted Broccolette w/ Charred Lemons and Tahini Yogurt Sauce 1 Picture

Ingredients

  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 32 stalks/328 grams broccolini
  • 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • OPTIONAL TAHINI YOGURT SAUCE
  • 1/4 cup 2% Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup
  • 1/2 garlic clove, grated or finely minced (didn't use first time)
  • A pinch of sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to broil. Set the oven rack in the top ⅓ of the oven.

Place the broccolini on a rimmed, parchment-lined baking sheet, making sure not to crowd the pan. Drizzle the oil over top, concentrating on the florets. Lay the lemon pieces on the baking sheet and sprinkle the chili flakes and sea salt overtop of everything.

Broil for 10-12 minutes, turning halfway, or until the broccolini florets are crispy, and many are charred.

OPTIONAL TAHINI YOGURT SAUCE:

In a small bowl mix the yogurt, tahini, maple syrup, garlic and sea salt.

To serve, spread the tahini yogurt sauce on serving plates. Top with the roasted broccolini (cut it in half or thirds (using tongs and a knife on the baking sheet), for ease of eating) and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Using tongs, squeeze the juice from the charred lemons over the broccolini and serve.
