- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 cup milk
- 1 stick butter
- 1/3 cup crisco
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 small jar marshmallow creme (optional)
Combine milk and cornstarch. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture is thick. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
Cream together butter and sugar - gradually adding sugar and beating well after each addition. Add cooled milk mixture 1 tablespoon at a time and beat until dissolved. Beat at high speed until light and fluffy (about 5 minutes). At this point the marshmallow creme can be added if using.
