  • 1 pound Fillo Dough
  • 1 pint 1/2 and 1/2
  • 1/2 pint whipping cream
  • 4 tablespoons corn starch
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tea orange blossom water/or vanilla/or/ cinnamon
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter

Step 1

1. Mix starch and sugar with cold milks until the starch melts then put on fire and start stirring until it starts to bubble. After 1 min. of bubbling turn fire off and let stand to cool by stirring once in a while until cools or luke warm. Add the flavor after you turn off the fire.

2. The fillo dough, open package and spread the whole packet. Take half of the stack and put aside. The stack that is spread on the table cut with knife and a ruler into 12 equal squares almost 4"x4" squares. Cut 2 lines horizontally and 23 lines vertically to be able to have the squares. In each square put almost 1 1/2 tablespoon of the cream mix. Fold the square into triangles and arrange in the pan. 4 triangles face each other and they can form a square. You will do the same to the other stack of fillo dough that you had put aside. So you will have 24 triangles. Melt the 1 cup of butter, take the white stuff off the butter. Then spoon the butter on the triangles.

3. Cook on 350 until it gets puffy and pink (like pakhlava). Pour cold syrup on hot pan, and put some pistachio pieces on top of each triangle.

4. I am sure you know how to make the syrup. 1 put 2 cups of sugar and 1 cup of water and 2 tablespoons of honey and some lemon juice. Cook for 10 minutes on low fire.
