Ingredients

  • Dry Rub for Barbecued Ribs
  • 8 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 5-6 lbs baby back ribs
  • Sauce-
  • bottled bbq sauce
  • grape jelly
  • make about 2 cups

Step 1

Mix all herb and spice ingredients. Rub over both sides of ribs. Let
sit in refrigerator for a couple hours or overnight.

Preheat oven to 400F (205) Place spareribs in a shallow baking
pan. Brown in oven 15 min turn and brown on other side 10 -15 min.
Drain fat. Place ribs in slow cooker.

Mix BBQ sauce and grape jelly in saucepan, heat til blended.
Pour over ribs; turn ribs until evenly coated. Cover and cook on low
about 6 hours or until ribs are tender. I typically make extra sauce
and place in the fridge b/c the sauce will be thin and runny and the
fat from the ribs will be in the sauce. I will heat the sauce in
sauce pan on the oven on a low simmer and brush on ribs when ready to
serve.
