Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 4 strip steaks, 1 inch thick (about 8 ounces each)

Step 1
Preheat grill to medium heat. Combine the salt, paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, cayenne, oregano and thyme in a small bowl.
Rub both sides of the steaks evenly with the salt mixture.
Place the steaks on the grill. Grill for 6 minutes. Turn the steaks over. Grill until the steaks are cooked to medium doneness, 4–6 minutes longer.
NOTE:
No need to rub the steaks with oil first—the seasoning mixture gives the steaks a nice blackened finish without adding extra fat.
