  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 (14 oz) bag caramels
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips

Step 1

Combine cake mix, butter, 1/3 cup milk and pecans. Stir with spoon until dough holds together. Grease a 9x13 inch pan. Press 1/2 dough in pan. Bake at 350 F for 6 minutes. Remove pan from oven and pour chocolate chips over baked dough. Then spread melted caramels over chips. (To melt caramels, use 1/3 cup milk with caramels and melt.) Spread the other half of dough over the chocolate chips and caramels. Bake 20 minutes at 350 F. Cool in refrigerator for 30 minutes before cutting.
