  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup 1% low-fat milk
  • 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 3/4 cups boiling water

Preparation

Step 1

Combine first 5 ingredients in a 9 inch square pan, and stir well. Add milk, oil and vanilla, stir until smooth combine brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa. Sprinkle over batter, pour boiling water over batter (do not stir) bake at 350 for 40 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched in center. Serve Warm
