Caramel-Pecan Brownies

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 oz unsweetened chocolate
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2/3 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate pieces
- 1 (6 1/4 oz) pkg caramels
- 2 Tbsp milk
- Chopped pecans to garnish

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x9x2" baking pan; set aside. In a medium saucepan, combine butter and chocolate; heat and stir over low heat until melted. Add sugar, eggs and vanilla. Using a wooden spoon, stir just until combined. Stir in flour and the 1/2 cup nuts.
Spread batter in prepared pan. Sprinkle chocolate pieces over top. Bake for 20 min. Cool in pan on a wire rack.
Make Caramel topping by unwrapping all the caramels. In small saucepan, combine caramels and milk. Cook and stir over med-low heat until smooth.
Drizzle over brownies and sprinkle additional chopped pecans. Cool in pan. Cut into bars.
To bake ahead-after topping do not cut into bars, cover pan and chill up to 2 days.
