  • 4 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/8 tsp. cream tartar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. broken nuts

Step 1

Beat egg whites until they are foamy throughout then add salt and cream of tartar and continue beating until the eggs are stiff enough to hold up in peaks but not dry. Add sugar, 2 Tbsp. at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Fold in the walnuts and chocolate cut in chips, and drop the kisses from a tsp. onto ungreased heavy paper. Bake in 300 oven for 25 min. or until done. Remove from paper while slightly warm.
