Ingredients
- 1 C butter
- 1 C sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 t peppermint extract
- 1/2 t salt
- 2/3 C finely crushed miniature candy canes
- 6 drops red food coloring
- 2 C packed flour
- 1 C semi sweet chcolate chips (6 oz)
- 2 C semi sweet chocolate chips (12 oz)

Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter. Place sugar, egg in bowl. Beat well. Add peppermint extract, salt and crushed canes. Add red food coloring. Add melted butter. Add flour in 1/2 cup increments. Stir in one cup chocolate chips by hand. Spread batter evenly into a greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 degres for 25 minutes until top feels firm.
Remove from oven and sprinkle with remaining 2 cups of chocolate chips. Immediately cover with foil to keep heat in. Let sit for 3 minutes. Take off foil and spread melted chips like frosting.
