Ingredients

  • 2 C sugar
  • 2 C flour
  • 1 C butter
  • 1 C water
  • 3 T unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/2 C milk
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 2 eggs beatan

Preparation

Step 1

In large bowl, stir sugar and flour together. Set aside. Put butter, water and cocoa in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Pour cocoa mixture over the sugar and flour and mix together.

Whisk milk, vanilla and baking soda and eggs in small bowl. Add egg mixture to large bowl. Pour into 9 x 13 pan. Bake 20 - 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Pam should be greased and floured.

Start making frosting 5 minutes before cake is done.

CHOCOLATE FROSTING
1/2 butter
3 T unsweetened cocoa powder
1/3 C milk
1 1# box of powdered sugar
1 t vanilla

Place butter, cocoa and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Stir constantly. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Stire in powdered sugar slowly until thickened, but pourable.

Pour frosting on HOT cake and spread quickly.
