  • 1 3/4 c sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 3 c flour
  • 1 1/2 t baking powder
  • 2 cans cherry pie filling
  • parchment paper

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 and line a 11x17 pan with parchment paper. Don't use cooking spray or grease.

In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Add the eggs one at a time and beat well. Add the vanilla and stir well.

Sift the flour, salt and baking powder. Add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture. Mix well.

Reserve 1/2 the batter. Pour the remaining batter into the pan. Spread the cherry pie filling over the batter evenly. Use a spoon to drop the remaining batter on top of the pie filling.

Bake for 35 min or until tester comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 15 min then transfer to a cooling rack. Serve with whipped cream or powdered sugar.
