Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 c flour
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1 1/2 t cinnamon
  • 1/4 t each salt and ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 c cold butter
  • 3 egg whites divided
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1 t water
  • glaze
  • 1 1/2 c powdered sugar
  • 2 T milk
  • 1 t vanilla

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Combine flour, sugar, cinnamon salt and nutmeg in med bowl. Cut in butter until mix forms coarse crumbs. Beat in 2 egg whites and vanilla; mix with hands to form soft dough.
Divided dough into 6 equal pieces; place on greased 15x10 in jelly roll pan. Press dough evenly to edges of pan using hands; smooth top of dough. Mix remaining egg white and water in small cup; brush over dough. Lightly score dough into 2x 1 1/2 in squares.
Bake 20-25 min or until lightly browned and firm when touched. While still warm, cut along score lines into squares; drizzle with glaze. let stand 15 min or until glaze is firm before removing from pan.
Glaze-combine all ingredients. IF too thick add 1 t milk at a time.Makes about 3/4 cup.
