Ingredients
- 1 . Cream together 1 cup golden flavor Crisco, 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar and 1/2 cup sugar. Beat in 2 eggs and 2 tsp vanilla.
- 2 . Combine 2 cups flour, 1 tsp baking soda and 1 tsp alt. Gradually blend into creamed mixture.
- 3 . Stir in 1 pkg (300 g) semi sweet chipits and 1 cup chopped nuts (optional).
- 4 . Drop by small spoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- 5 . Bake at 375 for 10 – 12 minutes.
- Original Chipits Muffins
- 1 . Combine 1 1/2 cups buttermilk, 3/4 cup vegetable oil, 3/4 cup sugar and 3 eggs; mix well
- 2 . Stir in 3 cups flour, 1 1/2 tsp baking soda and 1 pkg (300g) semi sweet chipits.
- 3 . Spoon into greased, large muffin pan.
- 4 . Bake at 375 for 25 minutes or until muffin springs back when lightly pressed.

Note: to make your own buttermilk place 1 ½ tbsp vinegar in bottom of glass measure, add milk to the 1 ½ cup mark.
